Spoiler Warning.

Saw it. Blah. Meh. And other lukewarm non-words. Pretty much what I expected. I didn't put my heart into it because I expected a great big, epic cop-out. That's what we got. Epic. I've not seen such a huge cop-out since that whole Star Wars Luke/Leia twins thing.

This is why I don't invest myself in television. I've come to the conclusion that TV writers are allergic to healthy/lasting onscreen relationships because they a) wouldn't know one if it smacked them across the face or b) are too deficient to write it effectively. There's drama in post-paired off life too (I'm living it, thank you very much), but few TV writers are able to exploit that. I, for one, am sick to death of watching teenage-mentality drama, full of pining and unrequited love. That sort of thing is not romantic; it's pathetic. What's more I feel pathetic and used when I let myself get sucked into such melodrama.

I could spend years ranting about such things as reverse character development and the *headdesk* aspect the writer's protesting there can't be sex in the TARDIS when they are the very idiots who put the potential there in the first place. Talk about painting yourself into a corner. *headdesks anyway* I need to stop ranting now because I'm making myself crazy.

Perhaps there needs to be less men writing this show. DH's reaction was "good, needed more action though." I think he misses the running through corridors days. *sigh*

Incidentally, ages ago I read what I dismissed as wild, crack-y, non-spoiler spoilers only to find out that they were absolutely true. (Namely the split-regen and Donna forgetting everything). Argh. I hate it when that happens.
