As a child, I watched on PBS and they used the dreaded "omibus editions". Depending on the story length they would edit them into 1.5 - 2 hr blocks that were either one complete story or a two-parter. They started at 10am and ended at late as noon and thus no Saturday morning cartoon watching for me. I still find the 30 minute cliff-hanger pauses disconcerting. I still expect DW watching to be a commitment.
