The Doctor forces himself to take a deep calming breath, steeling himself. He's faced entire armies and the end of the universe. Compared to that, this is nothing. He can do this. He only wishes Rose could be by his side, holding his hand. But she can't. She has her own mission to complete. Much as he wishes it, he can't be with her every moment.

He turns, taking Rose in his arms for one last, lingering kiss.

Rose frowns when they separate and gives him a Look.

"Oh, don't be so dramatic. It's only shopping with my mum."
